Goa, Dec. 24 -- A 74-year-old pigmy collector of Canara Bank was robbed of Rs.43,090 near Kareshwar Temple in Bicholim, triggering swift action by alert locals and the police. One of the accused, identified as Amit Gujjar (20), was chased by residents, apprehended with police assistance, and subsequently arrested.

According to police sources, the incident occurred when the elderly bank employee was carrying the collected cash as part of his routine duties. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused allegedly targeted him near the temple area and fled with the money.
