Goa, June 23 -- In a serious case of attempted extortion, Bicholim Police have arrested two men-Salman (26), a resident of Old Goa, and Maksud (29), from Ponda-for allegedly threatening a Sattari resident and demanding Rs.10 lakh in ransom.

According to the complaint, the victim and his uncle were travelling when they were forcibly stopped on the road by the two accused. The duo allegedly restrained them and issued death threats, demanding the ransom amount on the spot.

Following the incident, the victim lodged a complaint, after which both suspects were apprehended and produced before the court. They have been remanded to four days of police custody, officials confirmed.
