Goa, Dec. 23 -- Alert residents of Bhutebhat in Vasco apprehended a burglar red-handed after a group of five persons allegedly broke into an unoccupied house, police sources said on Monday.
According to information available, the incident occurred while the house owners were out of station for nearly five days. Taking advantage of the absence, the accused allegedly gained entry into the locked house. However, vigilant locals noticed suspicious activity and immediately intervened.
While four of the suspects managed to flee from the spot, residents successfully caught one of the accused and handed him over to the police. Law enforcement officials later took custody of the accused and initiated further investigation.
