Goa, Dec. 12 -- Bengaluru Police have ruled out gang rape in a case filed by a 22-year-old nursing student, concluding that the encounter she reported was consensual. The woman initially alleged that a cab driver and his accomplices assaulted her near Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal. The driver, a 33-year-old father of two, was arrested. But investigators found gaps in her statement and reviewed WhatsApp chats and CCTV footage showing both individuals together through the night by choice. No trace of accomplices or evidence of sexual assault was found. Confronted with the findings, the woman confessed she lied to avoid explaining neck scratch marks to her boyfriend.
