Goa, May 30 -- Traffic on the busy Belagavi-Goa road via Chorla, which had been disrupted since late Sunday, resumed on Wednesday evening after authorities installed an additional pipeline at the Malaprabha River diversion near Kusmalli. The disruption happened when part of the diversion near the Old Kusmalli bridge at Jamboti gave way due to a sudden rise in river water caused by continuous rainfall last week.
Consequently, vehicles were diverted through Khanapur, adding about 15 km to the commute for travelers heading to Belagavi or Goa.
