Goa, Jan. 5 -- The BCCI is set to involve VVS Laxman, head of the Centre of Excellence, to assist Team India in Test preparations. This move comes weeks after the board dismissed reports of Laxman being considered to replace Gautam Gambhir as head coach, following India's second home whitewash in a year under Gambhir.

According to sources, Laxman may organise red-ball camps before Test series, especially when Gambhir is occupied with white-ball duties. Captain Shubman Gill had emphasised the need for 15-day red-ball camps ahead of major Test assignments.
