The discontent simmering over the past few months between alliance partners AAP and Congress have come out in the open after the Delhi elections, with the two parties singing in different voices over the fate of their partnership in the crucial Benaulim Assembly constituency.
After the disappointing Delhi results, AAP Goa President Amit Palekar emphasised his party's continued commitment to the alliance in Goa. On Monday, however, the Benaulim Congress unit publicly rejected Palekar's proposal. At a press conference, Benaulim Block Congress President Keith Gracias announced that Congress would contest the Benaulim seat independently, dismissing the idea of maintaining the alliance in the
constituency.
