Goa, Sept. 13 -- Residents of Baina raised strong objections on Friday after cement debris from the demolition of a residential colony building fell onto nearby houses, shattering several roofs.
Following the protest, Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Girish Borker directed the contractor to immediately halt demolition activities until adequate safety measures are implemented.
Locals said the uncontrolled debris posed a serious risk to both property and lives, urging authorities to ensure strict precautions before allowing the work to continue.
