Goa, July 19 -- A violent clash between a sweet shop retailer and a wholesaler - both non-Goan - erupted in Baga on Friday, following a raid by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that uncovered substandard sweets being sold at the retailer's outlet.
According to sources, the FDA seized the low-quality products during a surprise inspection, triggering a furious reaction from the retailer, who accused the wholesaler of tipping off the authorities. The argument quickly escalated into a physical brawl, leaving both men seriously injured.
Bystanders rushed to intervene and managed to separate the two before calling for medical assistance. The injured parties were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
