The committee has instructed the Maharashtra Forest Department to 'capture' the elephant, but only in a manner that ensures his long-term safety and well-being. Officials have stressed that Omkar's survival is the top priority, and Kolhapur forest authorities have been told not to move him to any permanent facility until a scientific and medical evaluation is completed.
