PANJIM, July 9 -- With over 136 new cases, the highest in a day, Goa went past the 2000 cases mark on Wednesday with COVID-19 showing no signs of receding in the State despite several measures announced by the government. The latest measure is to begin plasma treatment for critical patients, which it to begin next week.

Goa went from 1000 cases to 2000 cases in very quick time. It had crossed the 1000 mark on June 26 and just 12 days later had reached the 2000 figure.

As per the health bulletin, the confirmed cases now stand at 2,039 with 824 active cases and 1,207 recoveries. There have been eight deaths in the State.
