Goa, Dec. 7 -- In a tragic incident at Arpora's Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub, 25 people lost their lives, including four tourists and 14 staff members. The fire broke out around midnight on Sunday, leaving six others injured. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant confirmed the arrest of the nightclub manager and issued a warrant against the owner, while ordering a magisterial inquiry. Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences on X, expressing sadness and concern for the injured. Preliminary reports indicate that the victims suffocated as overcrowding and narrow exits hindered escape.
