Goa, Nov. 3 -- Acting on a complaint filed by the Captain of Ports, Chapora, the Anjuna Village Panchayat on Monday carried out an inspection along the riverbank of the Chapora River near the fishing jetty at Dhabolwada, Chapora.

The inspection followed allegations of illegal mud filling along the riverbank, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Anjuna Panchayat.

A team of panchayat officials visited the site to verify the claims and assess the extent of the alleged encroachment. Authorities stated that further necessary action would be taken based on the inspection findings.

A detailed report of the inspection is expected to be submitted to the concerned department soon, officials confirmed.
