Goa, May 6 -- The Government of India has mandated a nationwide civil defence mock drill to be conducted across all states and Union Territories on Wednesday. The large-scale exercise is aimed at evaluating the country's emergency preparedness in light of emerging geopolitical threats.

As per the directive, the drill will assess the effectiveness of air raid warning systems, operationalisation of radio communication links with the Indian Air Force, and functionality of main and shadow control rooms.
