Goa, June 20 -- An ammonia gas leak at the Icy Ice factory in Tuem Industrial Estate caused a brief scare on Friday afternoon, but swift and coordinated emergency response ensured there were no injuries. The leak was reported around 3 PM, prompting the immediate arrival of Fire and Emergency Services.
On reaching the site, firefighters detected ammonia gas-commonly used in ice manufacturing-spread across the area. Recognizing the serious health risks, including breathing difficulties, eye irritation, and potential suffocation, authorities quickly evacuated all factory workers and nearby residents.
