India, Feb. 23 -- Amit Patkar has strongly questioned the approval granted for the proposed coal handling jetty in Assolda, stating that the project should be scrapped if it does not have public support.
Patkar alleged that the ruling government is not even listening to its own party members and MLAs on the issue. He asserted that since local residents are opposed to the project, it should not be allowed to proceed.
Referring to Nilesh Cabral, Patkar said the MLA should directly convey the public's opposition to the Chief Minister. He also raised concerns over the clearance process, questioning how the department granted approval if the property reportedly lacks proper access to the site.
