Panjim, Aug. 24 -- Fide Master (FM) Audi Ameya finished 6th but was placed 11th on tie-break in the recently concluded 16th Dato Arthur Tan Malaysian Open Chess Championship, held in Malaysia.

Ameya beat IM Pascau Haridas of Philipines, David Enrique of Philipines, Ng Jun Fung Isaac of Malaysia, Chia Yu Zhe Ashton of Singapore, FM Subrmaniam Sumant of Malaysia, and drew against Poh Yu Tian and Chan Marcus of Malaysia.

Ameya Audi had five wins and two draws to tally six points out of possible nine. Ameya finished ahead of few Grandmasters and International Masters of the tournament.

The tournament showed a participation of 88 players from 16 countries. Ameya won a cash award and medal for his performance.
