Goa, Oct. 16 -- A day before the planned cabinet expansion in Gujarat, all 16 ministers except Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel submitted their resignations on Thursday, BJP sources confirmed. The cabinet expansion is scheduled for Friday at 11:30 AM, according to an official release.

The current council has 17 members, including CM Patel, with eight cabinet-rank ministers and the remaining as Ministers of State (MoS). Gujarat's 182-member assembly allows for a maximum of 27 ministers.

Earlier this month, MoS Jagdish Vishwakarma was appointed the new state BJP president, replacing Union Minister CR Paatil. Patel has been serving his second term as Chief Minister since December 12, 2022
