Goa, Sept. 1 -- At least 800 people have died and more than 2,500 have been injured following a devastating earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan, according to a spokesperson from the Taliban-led government.
The United Nations in Afghanistan expressed its deep sorrow over the incident. In a statement posted on X, the UN noted that its teams are already on-site, providing emergency aid and life-saving assistance. "Our thoughts are with the affected communities," the message read.
