Goa, March 15 -- A special court has denied bail to actress Ranya Rao, who was apprehended for smuggling a significant quantity of gold. Another individual involved, Tarun Raju, has been placed in judicial custody for 15 days. At Bengaluru airport, authorities confiscated gold bars valued at Rs 12.56 crore from Ranya Rao.

Subsequently, officials conducted searches at her properties, uncovering gold jewelry worth Rs 2.06 crore and cash amounting to Rs 2.67 crore. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) initiated an investigation into the case yesterday, which involves the actress and the stepdaughter of Karnataka's Director General of Police, K Ramachandra Rao.
