Goa, Dec. 7 -- The Goa Tourism Department has asked Mandrem Police to take formal action against the management of Riva Beach Resort, Mandrem, under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Officials said the resort repeatedly violated the Goa Tourist Places (Protection and Maintenance) Act, 2001. The latest violation involved constructing an illegal stage on government land along the public beach for a wedding event without securing the required permissions. The department has termed the act a serious breach and directed police to proceed accordingly.
