Goa, June 28 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Tuem Hospital Kruti Samitee spokesperson Advocate Prasad Shahapurkar has criticised the government over the new hospital building at Tuem, which remains unused despite more than Rs.52 crore being spent on its construction.
Speaking in the Mandrem constituency, Shahapurkar said the facility has not been opened to the public even though substantial funds have already been exhausted. He pointed out that, despite lying idle, the building incurs monthly electricity bills of around Rs.3.4 lakh, leading to further wastage of taxpayer money.
"This is nothing but a colossal misuse of public funds. Instead of benefitting people, the building has become a white elephant," Shahapurkar said.
