Goa, May 28 -- Mopa police have registered an FIR against an 86-year-old Portuguese national, Javaharlal Caramchand, for allegedly attempting to board a flight to London with an unlicensed firearm.
Airport security personnel at Mopa International Airport detected a pistol concealed in Caramchand's baggage during a routine screening. Authorities confirmed that the weapon was not accompanied by a valid license.
Following the discovery, the senior citizen was detained, and the firearm was seized. Police have initiated further investigations into the matter and are determining the intent behind the attempted transport of the weapon.
