Goa, Nov. 5 -- The 40 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) constructed by the Mapusa Municipal Council has completed one year since its construction but remains unused, causing liquid waste disposal problems to persist in the area. Despite the infrastructure being in place, the plant lies idle, leading to garbage accumulation nearby and inconvenience for surrounding residents.
The inoperational status of the plant poses a growing threat to public health and local ecology, with social activist Salman Khan urgently calling on the authorities to take swift corrective measures.
