In a significant breakthrough, the Maina-Curtorim Police apprehended a murder accused, who had been on the run for 35 years.

The accused was arrested in Raia, following coordinated efforts with the Lodhika Police Station, Rajkot, Gujarat.

The accused, identified as Basappa, a native of Arakera K, Khalsa, Laxmipur in Yadgir, Karnataka, was wanted in connection with a 1990 murder case registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Acting on crucial intelligence, the Maina-Curtorim Police team managed to trace the accused and arrested him on February 24.
