Goa, May 24 -- The Administrator of Comunidades, Central Zone, Panaji, has formally declared 30 Comunidades as "in default" due to their failure to conduct elections for the 2025-2028 triennium within the stipulated deadline. This decision, made under the authority of Article 181-A(1) of the Code of Comunidades, follows an extensive inquiry process involving stakeholder hearings and comprehensive reports submitted by clerks. These reports certainly showing serious lapses, including the non-constitution of the Comunidades and failure to hold deliberations as mandated by Article 34 of the Code. This move also serves as a warning to other Comunidades to comply with electoral schedules to avoid similar consequences.
