India, Feb. 1 -- Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Sunday criticised the Union Budget, using a cricketing analogy to say that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman appeared to have "missed the ball." He said the Budget speech had several subheadings but lacked clear details and an overall vision.

As a Member of Parliament from Kerala, Tharoor said there was little in the Budget to be happy about for his state. He pointed out that employment generation remained the biggest unanswered question, with no concrete roadmap outlined in the speech.
