Goa, Jan. 10 -- The Village Panchayat of Anjuna-Caisua has installed "Don't Throw Garbage" signboards at identified black spots across the village to curb illegal waste dumping. The boards have been placed near the Fort area, around public structures and in all wards where garbage dumping is frequently reported. Despite regular door-to-door garbage collection, waste continues to be dumped in open areas, leading to unhygienic conditions and health risks, especially as animals often consume the discarded waste. The panchayat has appealed to residents and visitors to keep their garbage within their premises and hand it over directly to collection staff.
