Goa, Aug. 24 -- Minister Ramesh Tawadkar reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that he never switched allegiance despite being denied a ticket in 2017.
Speaking at a public meeting in Canacona, Tawadkar said, "In 2017, I didn't get the BJP ticket, but that doesn't mean I changed my party. I have always remained loyal. The ministry is not important - what matters is working sincerely for the party."
Tawadkar, a strong BJP face in South Goa, recently returned to the state cabinet after eight years. Despite being sidelined in 2017, he contested successfully in 2022 from Canacona, later becoming Speaker of the Assembly and now a cabinet minister.
