India, Dec. 3 -- Goa Forward Party (GFP) president and MLA Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday reiterated his support for an alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections, stressing that unity is essential to prevent a split in anti-BJP votes.

Sardesai said the "alliance ball is now in Congress' court," signalling that the next move rests with the party leadership. He has consistently advocated for a pre-poll understanding between opposition forces to consolidate support and strengthen their chances in the ZP polls.
