MONROVIA, Sept. 5 -- The Management of the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA) has confirmed the malfunctioning of one of its escalators in the arrival terminal.

In a statement, the LAA said the required diagnosis has been done for prompt redress.

"This in no way poses any major operational and technical constraint to the terminal and operation is very smooth using other available access including the remote gate and the stairscase," the LAA statement noted.

According to the LAA, the China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) which was awarded the contract to construct the new terminal is still in charge of repairing operational and technical glitches for a period of one year, as indicated in the construction agreement.
