India, June 30 -- Actor Suriya's film with director Vetrimaaran, Vaadivaasal, has been in the making for a while now. The film was announced some years back, with Suriya also going for practise to learn the jallikattu sport for the film. However, it looks like fans have to wait a little longer, given Vetrimaaran has openly stated that the film will take time to take off. And here is why.

Vaadivaasal is based on the traditional Tamil Nadu sport of bull taming called Jalllikattu. The film, headlined by Suriya, marks the actor's first collaboration with Vetrimaaran and was supposed to be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.
