India, Dec. 9 -- JioHotstar has announced a plethora of projects in the South, and first in line is Moodu Lantharlu. The special aspect of this series is that none other than Aishwarya Rajesh of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam fame is playing the female lead in this comedy thriller.

Karthik Ratnam, who is known for his shows on OTT, is the main lead.Moodu Lantharlu is set in the early '90s, during a time when liquor was prohibited in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh. During this period, the legendary NTR was the Chief Minister and was disliked by many as he had enforced the liquor ban.
