India, Sept. 3 -- Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, the first of a proposed 5-film franchise by filmmaker Dominic Arun, tells a modern-day adaptation of the story of the title character Chandra, or Kalliyankatu Neeli, played by Kalyani Priyadarshan. While the film follows Chandra and the events that unfold between her and a corrupt cop called Nachiyappa Gowda, it also explores her origins and how she came to be a vampire. Dominic also introduces audiences to characters who will get their own arcs in this cinematic universe, predominantly Tovino Thomas' Chathan and Dulquer Salmaan's Odiyan, among others.
