Manchu Manoj, the younger brother of Vishnu, watched the film in Hyderabad and had some positive things to say about the big-budget drama. Manoj stated that the film exceeded his expectations and that he never imagined his brother could deliver such a powerful performance in the climax. "Kannappa has exceeded my expectations.
