India, July 30 -- A teenage boy's seemingly innocuous desire to sport a trendy hairstyle popularised by a Kannada superstar is at the centre of debutant filmmaker Bheemrao's hard-hitting yet engaging social drama Hebbuli Cut, which released in theatres on July 4, 2025. The film, which highlights caste-based oppression in north Karnataka, received fairly positive reviews, but the box office performance did not really reflect that. However, its critical acclaim meant that the makers were able to get the film a post-theatrical streaming deal, with a streaming date now announced.
