India, June 20 -- Trisha, who was last seen in Thug Life, played the role of Indrani in the film. Her role, which had courted much attention among the audience, was perceived negatively. In the Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam film, Trisha's character, who was oddly paired up with both Kamal Haasan and Simbu, received criticism, with many feeling her role did not really contribute to the film.
