Mumbai, March 14 -- Not many are aware that Saif Ali Khan, who received a National Award for his portrayal of Langda Tyagi in Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara was not the first choice for the role. Initially, Aamir Khan was Vishal Bhardwaj's top pick to portray the character on screen. However, Bhardwaj ultimately changed his mind due to Aamir Khan's tendency to delve deeply into scripts and request changes, which the filmmaker wasn't prepared to accommodate at that point of time. As a result, Saif ended up playing Langda Tyagi in Omkara. The film also starred Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles.
