India, Jan. 7 -- On January 7, 1983, actor Anil Kapoor made his Kannada movie debut with Pallavi Anu Pallavi, much before he found a firm footing in Hindi cinema. A romantic drama, the film was the directorial debut of Mani Ratnam, with both director and actor then never returning to the industry that gave them that initial boost. Cut to 43 years later, Anil fondly remembered his Kannada debut and remarked that it's been incredible to see the industry booming and redefining Indian cinema on the global stage.
