India, June 28 -- In their third film together, a biopic on cinema trailblazer Dadasaheb Phalke, Aamir Khan will star in the titular role and it will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Production on the film will commence in October 2025, following four years of planning.

After producing two hugely successful films together, 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014), this is Khan and Hirani's third collaboration. It is believed that the next biopic will have the same tone as the two critically acclaimed films, which combined comedy, emotion, and commentary.
