Bangladesh, April 3 -- The reinforced frame, weighing 58 tons, and the embedded part of the core catcher (core meltdown retention device), weighing 7.5 tons, have been installed at Unit 2 of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna.
"In the nearest future, our experts will proceed with installation of the core catcher - a unique device developed by Russian nuclear engineers and one of the main passive safety systems of Rooppur NPP", informed Sergey Lastochkin, Vice President, Atomstroyexport (ASE) and Project Director, Rooppur NPP Construction.
