Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- The government is on its way to form a company to manage radioactive waste. The new company will be operating under Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) and it will regulate and manage the overall radioactive nuclear waste management system of the country.

The cabinet has approved such a policy yesterday. A draft policy titled 'National Policy on Radioactive Waste and Spent Nuclear Fuel Management-2019' got approved in a cabinet meeting held on Monday in presence of the Prime Minister as the chair of the meeting.

According to the approved policy, the government will form a company named 'Radioactive Waste Management Company (RWMC)' under the Bangladeshi company act to manage the disposal of radioactive waste. Cab...
