The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday opened e-licencing service allowing entrepreneurs in the power and energy sector to register their businesses online.

From now on, licences for power production, energy transmission, sale, transportation and distribution can be obtained or renewed online.

'We are a step closer in realising our dream of running a paperless office,' said BERC chairman Monowar Islam at the inaugural ceremony of the e-licencing service week in the afternoon at BERC office in Dhaka.
