Palpa, Jan. 20 -- year-old office assistant of Nisdi Rural Municipality died after being electrocuted while carrying out maintenance work on a wind energy system in Palpa district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Lalbahadur Khangaha of Nisdi Rural Municipality-4, Mithyal Khoplakharka.

Saroj Kafle, the municipality's accounts officer, said that Khangaha was repairing a wind energy pole in the afternoon when he received an electric shock. Although the power supply was immediately cut off, he fell to the ground.

Khangaha was rushed to Madhya Bindu Hospital in Nawalpur, where he died during treatment, police at the Mithyal police post confirmed.
