Kathmandu, Oct. 17 -- UML's central committee meeting that concluded on Friday decided to hold its 11th general convention in the second week of December. The meeting passed the political report presented by party chair KP Sharma Oli.
UML's publicity department chief Rajendra Gautam said the party will hold the convention on December 13-15 to elect new leadership.
On the current political situation, the committee concluded that the government has failed to create a conducive environment for elections.
"With weapons looted by the police still unaccounted for, how can voters safely reach polling centres?" the party stated. "The country is pushed into a multidimensional crisis. Elections cannot take place under the current circumstances. ...
