Rajbiraj, Sept. 26 -- Two inmates who escaped from Rajbiraj Jail on September 10 were later found dead, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Turantlal Barahi, 50, of ward 4 of Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality and Santosh Tamang, 40, of ward 10 of Saptakoshi Municipality, both serving prison terms in murder cases.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Basnet said Barahi was found dead in ward 6 of Bishnupur Rural Municipality on September 11, while Tamang was found hanging from a tree in ward 3 of Rajgadh Rural Municipality on September 12. "Preliminary investigation shows both died by suicide. Further investigation is underway," he said.
