Rautahat, May 4 -- Two people, a father and his daughter, were killed after a car hit their motorcycle near the East-West Highway in ward 4 of Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat, on Sunday.

Police have taken the car driver into custody.

According to the Area Police Office, Chandranigahapur, the deceased are identified as 60-year-old Baliram Sahani and his 40-year-old daughter Urmila Devi Sahani of Malahitole in ward 3 of Garuda Municipality.

The motorcycle heading from Nijgadh was struck by a car coming from Hetauda.

Both sustained critical injuries and died while undergoing treatment, police said. Baliram died at the Highway Hospital and Trauma Centre, and Urmila at the LS Neuro and General Hospital in Bara.
