Solukhumbu, Oct. 12 -- Trails in the Everest region damaged by recent rainfall have been repaired and reopened. Landslides during three days of rain last week had blocked routes at Jorsalle, Larcha Dovan, and Namche.

The village authorities said the trails leading to the base camp, damaged by landslides, have been restored. During the disruption, tourists had to use alternative routes to reach the base camp.

Now, visitors can travel via the regular paths. In total, six trails in the Khumbu region were damaged by the rain. Some have been repaired and reopened, while work continues on others, said Laxman Adhikari, ward chair of Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-4.
