Kathmandu, July 9 -- The Meteorological Forecasting Division said that monsoon winds are currently active across the country and the monsoon trough lies close to its average position.

This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected nationwide. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in a few other regions. One or two places in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may receive heavy rainfall. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also likely in some high-hill and Himalayan areas.
