Kathmandu, July 6 -- The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that monsoon winds continue to affect most parts of the country, with the monsoon trough lying close to its average position. The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy nationwide over the next 24 hours.

According to the division, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at various places across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces today. A few locations in other provinces could also witness brief showers. One or two areas in the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati are at risk of heavy rainfall, while light to moderate snowfall or rain is also expected in some high hilly and Himalayan areas.
